What Is Sidechaining ?
Sidechaining is a classic production technique used in a huge variety of music genres which creates a volume ducking effect to a signal in order to allow other elements greater clarity in the mix. Sidechain compression or volume shaping is typically used on kick drum and bass elements. This is because these elements often share the same space in the frequency range, so adding a sidechain (or volume shaping) effect to the bass will allow the kick drum space to be heard clearer in the mix.
The Benefits Of Frequency Based Volume Shaping (Or Sidechaining).
The benefit of a frequency based volume shaping Audio Plugin is that you can create space in the mix by volume ducking only problem frequencies as opposed the entire audio signal.
