One of the UKs most exciting multidisciplinary artists with fans in the likes of i-D Magazine, Resident Advisor, Telekom Electronic Beats(named a ‘One To Watch for 2021’), The FACE, Dazed, CRACK and more, 2021 is already setting to be LCY’s biggest year yet; charging out the gates with a production mix for Joy Orbison’s BBC Radio 1 Residency show, starring in a FILA campaign alongside Leeroy Thornhill (The Prodigy) and their single ‘Almost Blue’ being synced to GTA V Still Slipping.
Since the release of their bandcamp only debut LCY EP in March 2020, LCY has been in all the right places lending their talent to collaborate with a host of cutting edge labels and artists including Sicaria Sound’s Cutcrxss Recordings on the debut release and double sell out With The Fracture vinyl EP, a remix for the iconic DJ, producer and fellow Bristolian Krust’s recent album The Edge of Everything alongside Calibre and Four Tet on Crosstown Rebels, and with ‘Milan’ on the newly founded Sisters of Sound label’s compilation SOS Vol.1 along Nightwave, rRoxymore, UMFANG and more.
LCY continues to solidify their place as a key proponent of UK underground music and culture with their label SZNS7N. In just two years it’s released an impressive plethora of intoxicating and innovative releases spanning all corners of electronic, bass and club music from the likes of NARA, Yazzus, Lijah, Tailor Jae, Traces, MUHLA, Raheim and more and sold out the first label night pre-pandemic with plans to continue nights at the end of 2021. LCY’s genuine passion for sonic and visual experimentation continues to grow and influence those around them – firmly placing them as a one to watch for 2021 and beyond.
Bionic Autonomy IDM is LCY’s debut sample collection, containing all of the trademark elements of their genre-defying sound. Warped and wild sound design seeps from the core of the pack, with dissonant bass work and piercing sci-fi FX generating dystopian and driving energy. The drum sections within combine traditional kicks, snares and hats with intense synthetic elements, perfect for crafting alien grooves and slicing through the mix. You can add on this feel by bolstering your rhythm sections with the crisp percussion included. Vocals, synths, guitars and piano will add the final elements to your piece, ensuring you stay inspired for many studio sessions to come.
